Shri Swami Samarth once came to Dwaraka and there was blind saint called Soordas there. Soordas was keen to get a darshan of Lord Krishna and was praying wholeheartedly for this to happen. Swamiji went to his hermitage and called out to Soordas and said that the person whom Soordas has been calling with all devotion was standing in front of him. Swamiji touched the eyes of Soordas and he immediately regained his eyesight. Soordas saw the figure of Krishna, dark blue coloured and charming figure, right in front of him. He looked for the figure again and surprisingly found Swamiji standing in place of Lord Krishna.
Eyesight and Blessing
Soordas was overwhelmed with joy and prostrated at the lotus feet of Swamiji and prayed. He said that he was blind by birth and with the kind blessings of Swamiji he got the divine darshan of Lord Krishna. He asked Swamiji for his blessings for deliverance from the cycle of birth and death. Swamiji blessed him with a boon to be a philosopher. Soordas returned happily after getting the divine darshan of Lord Krishna and Shri Swami Samarth.
Swamiji once reached a village called Ambejogai and started staying there on a hill nearby. One peasant girl used to take her animals to graze near the place where Swamiji was staying. The girl became friendly with Swamiji and He used to play with the little girl. The girl’s father was greedy man and for money he sold the girl as a boy to rich man. The rich man adopted her as his son and after few years selected a girl to marry his adopted son. The rich man wanted to celebrate the marriage ceremony in grand style and on the wedding day the girl’s relatives came to apply mehndi to the boy as per custom. They then realised that the bridegroom was not a boy but a girl.
Pray with Full Dedication
The rich when he came to know the truth complained to the king that the peasant man had cheated him by saying that the girl was a boy. The king ordered to kill the girl and the solders took her to the top of the hill. The girl was crying and she started praying to Swamiji with full dedication and solemnity. Swamiji heard her prayer and was angry on the soldiers and ordered them to call the king and the rich man. When they arrived Swamiji asked them to check whether she was a boy or girl. There were all surprised to see a boy standing in place of the girl and Swamiji asked the king to arrange for the marriage and vanished from the sight.
