Dhatar is called the Creator God and Sun God according to the Hindu Puranics. He is called the god who establishes and places things. He is a deity that produces children.The original Vedic list of 6 descendants of Adityas or Goddess Aditi who take the role of Sun Gods was in later times were enlarged to 12 including the Dhatar. The Waterjar, the lotus rosary and two lotuses are attributes of the Indian God Dhatar. Golden color is attributed to this God.
Dhatar God restricts regions from behaving in a disorderly manner. The responsibility of conception, birth of the child and production of life is taken up by Lord Dhatar. The word Dhatri used in northern parts of India means the woman who has given birth to a child. Marriage is brought about by invoking Dhatar God. It is for this reason that the 5th house has connection with romance as well as children. The name Dhatar is of Indian origin and means the Kind God, generally. It is a mainly a masculine names and used as a name in the Sikh religion.
In the Rigveda, there is no mention of a Creator God. However towards the ending of the Rig Vedic period, such a deity existed having the name Prajapati. Prajapati means the creator of all Gods and men. Later on Prajapati was established as Lord Brahma of Hindus.
