Sisupala is a Hindu demon also called as Shishupala. This deadly demon has 3 eyes and 4 arms. It is believed that this demon was known as Ravana, previously. When Sisupala arrived as a baby he came with a warning that he would turn really unpleasant, if he is not adored or loved. If he sat on the lap of someone and that someone wanted to do away with him, then he would turn unfriendly.

Sisupala had mortal parents residing in a palace, in his new incarnation. The baby demon had exposure to celebrities, lavish banquets at the palace being loved by everyone and so he would keep running over the laps of everyone. It so happened that once Krishna, his old arch enemy visited him at the palace. Seeing Krishna, Sisupala climbed on his knee. Krishna said some insensitive words after which the third eye and additional arms of the baby demon vanished. Seeing this Sisupala’s parents were happy with this miracle which cured him. Sisupala however seemed unhappy as he was in the habit of being noticed and behaving devilish.

Sisupala grew up normal, got married to Rukmini but he kept brooding. Unhappy, Rukmini contacted Krishna, who came to her rescue flying and even got married to her. The angry Sisupala planned and plotted to kill Krishna. Krishna however was enjoying the whole process of being grudged. King Yudhishthira held an important sacrifice in which Krishna slaughtered Sisupala into two, for insulting him. His gushing blood lapped over the feet of Krishna. Sisupala thus took partial revenge by getting part of his spirit absorbed into Lord Krishna.
